Biography
René Lynch is a watercolor artist who lives in Tallahassee, Florida. Extensive travel to tropical shores, including a yearlong sabbatical on the Garden Isle of Kauai, provide an endless array of subject matter. She is constantly inspired by her surroundings and greets each day with a brush in her hand, grateful for the opportunity to be an artist. Her previous work life includes nineteen years in the technology industry and several years as an interior designer. She teaches Design Fundamentals and Studio Courses at Florida State University. René and her husband Larry have three grown children.
Education
René has an undergraduate degree in French with minors in Business and Humanities from the University of South Florida. She earned her Master of Science in Interior Design from Florida State University. Like many artists, René began painting in mid-life, taking classes from artists such as Karen Vernon, Joe McFadden and Sondra Freckleton.
